At Common Ground we believe that we are called to participate in the mission of God both locally and around the world. This value is reflected in our commitment to set aside at least 10% of our budget to support mission endeavors. Locally we are actively seeking ways to support community ministries that meet basic needs with the goal of sharing the love of Jesus. We plan to have an organized time once a year where we invite all the people of our church to engage, meet needs, and build relationships with a neighborhood near the church. Our outpost groups are expected to discuss and find ways that they can engage and build relationships with their neighbors, as well as serving together regularly. As our groups multiply, the vision is to plant churches in the Carson Valley area to better serve those local pockets of the population.
On our Local Missions page you will find information about current service projects available at local organizations we partner with in our community. As well as a link to our Local Missions Form that can help guide you to a serving project.
Finally, it is important that we take part in taking the Gospel to the world. We actively support missionary Joanna Gregg overseas in Guinea, Africa, on a monthly basis. It is exciting to know that we have a small part in allowing her to live and work among people that have not heard about Jesus. Of course the ways that we can be involved in missions are endless and we love it when individuals from our church take the step of putting themselves in the work.
As a church plant, we are blessed by the support of other, more established churches and we want to continue that pattern by giving back to the missions board of Nevada and the North American Mission Board for planting more churches. Church plants have a much greater level of effectiveness in reaching people with the Gospel and we want to be part of that wherever it's happening in Nevada and across the U.S.
